 RAFTING

Several places around Argentina are ideal for rafting at all levels. We recently went rafting in the province of Salta, where the scenery along the ride is incredible. You can contact www.saltarafting.com for prices and reservations or contact us and we'll help you plan. We also went rafting in the provinces of Mendoza and Neuquén, in the Andes mountains.

 TREKKING

There are thousands of excellent trekking opportunities in Argentina. The hills of the mediterranean Cordoba offer countless opportunities for connecting with nature. The Andes mountains offer the excitement of hiking on glaciars and to the most incredible spots available. Whether you want jungles, hills, mountains, glaciars, petrified forests or anything else, Argentina is the place for you.

 TREKKING ON GLACIERS

I enter this in a separate category, because we tried it and the experience was incredible. You can do this in El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, in Patagonia. Organized tours take you trekking on the Perito Moreno Glaciar. The skill level is easy so most people can do it, and the experience is really rewarding. The excursion ends with some alfajores and whisky on the rocks, with the ice taken from the glaciar itself.

You can also try walking on the "Tronador", in Rio Negro. Excursions start at the Otto Meiling refuge at almost 2000 metres above sea level. You can get more information about these excursions at www.clubandino.org (Club Andino Bariloche)

 MOUNTAIN CLIMBING

Whether you are an amateur or professional climber, don't miss the experience while in Argentina! Along the Andes mountain range you will come across plenty of opportunities for this. In the province of Rio Negro you may try your hand on the Tronador Mountain. Or for a higher level, try the Aconcagua Mountain.
